Christmas is just around the corner, and it’s a great time to come up with a themed marketing plan for your real estate business. This time of year is usually a bit slower for many agents, so focusing on unique holiday promotion should do just the trick.
When it comes to the winter holiday, you have a number of ways that you can engage with and educate potential and existing clients. Here are a few to check off your list.
Holiday-Themed Open House
You no doubt still have a few listings to push through the holidays. Why not make them festive? Decorating with slight touches of the season not only brings warmth to your listing but also gives potential buyers an idea of how cozy their future home could be around the time of year.
To start, don’t go overboard. You don’t want to spend too much on decorations but do want to bring a bit of seasonal spirit to the property. A holiday wreath on the front door, a few strategically placed candles and even the scent of Christmas is enough to appeal to every visitor.
You can also provide hot apple cider and Christmas cookies or other small, easy-to-eat and not-so-messy treats.
If there’s a fireplace, and it’s cold outside, fire up the gas and let the warmth surround the space.
Giving to the Community
As a real estate agent, you have the distinct advantage of having strong personal relationships with your clients. If you have a particular cause that you would like to give to during the holidays, then make it known and invite everyone to join you.
Write a blog post about the charity that you are contributing to and how you would like others to follow suit. If you are collecting clothing for a local nonprofit, then this is a great time to talk about it on your website, social media channels and to ask people to donate, too. You can have the drop-off be at your office or let people know that you can make a quick in-person pickup. It’s a great opportunity to meet people or visit with them again.
You can also volunteer at a local event like a jingle run. Strike up conversations with those around you – you never know who is looking to list their home or buy one come spring.
Sponsor a Local Event
Go one step further and become a sponsor for a local event. This can be a local holiday market, fun run, really any event that will attract your target audience.
Be sure to review the sponsor benefits and see which events make the most sense for your business. Understand who participates in or attends the event and ensure it aligns with your target market and marketing goals. Can you hand out information on your real estate services? What are all the marketing touchpoints included?
If content matters most to you, then gear up for a season of writing! Pre-plan and schedule blog posts that provide tips on how to winterize your home. You can also write a blog post about winter safety or safeguarding your home while away on vacation.
These are just a few tips to get you going. Look around and get in the holiday spirit for more inspiration to promote your real estate business.
