We have all said the phrase “real estate is local,” so why do so many agents use a template marketing plan, listing presentation, and websites? Lead generation for real estate agents needs to be just as local as the market is. Yes, this will take some effort on your part, but it will certainly stand out and make you unique. Do you live in an area where there are a lot of high-tech agents? Perhaps old school marketing like door knocking and snail mail will differentiate you. When you look at home in your MLS, do they all look the same? Perhaps doing something outside of the box like arial photography using a drone or doing evening shots instead of daytime shots will make you stand out. Great customer support is certainly a way to be unique. Even a business card can be unique – just ask Minneapolis real estate agent Danny Dietl. Figure out what everyone in your market is doing and then do the opposite.
Have A Personality
When it comes to lead generation, the same holds true. I read a ton of real estate articles, how-to’s, and market reports that are all the same, monotonous drivel. Sure, there is good information in them but there is absolutely no PERSONALITY in them. How am I supposed to know if I like you or not? If your blog sounds boring, they may equate that with your personality. If you are not the boring type, then liven up your marketing with some personality. Show them who you really are by cracking a joke or talking about your interests and family. Don’t be just another stick in the mud.
The Key To Lead Generation For Real Estate Agents Is BE YOURSELF!
If you aren’t comfortable on camera, don’t do video. If you don’t like to write, then don’t start a blog. People can tell if you don’t have your heart into what you are doing and it will shine through. People won’t like your blog or your videos or your postcards or your emails, which means they won’t work. You’ll blame the platform for the failure, when really it was a reflection of your passion. The key to lead generation for real estate agents is to be yourself and don’t do what everyone else is doing just because everyone else is doing it. You need to stand out among the crowd and show your clients – and your leads – how you are different.
