The holidays are just around the corner. Hopefully, you’ll have enough open houses and listing appointments to keep you happily busy. But if your market is somewhat slower this season, then this is the perfect time to do some pre-planning and prep for 2017.
Get a Head Start on Your Marketing Campaigns
This is more of an overall strategy task that will pervade all of your marketing channels. Each month, holiday and season has a marketing opportunity just waiting to be utilized.
Plan Your Social Media Calendar in Advance
With 52 weeks in the year of social media posts to share, it might seem overwhelming to start now. But you don’t have to reinvent the wheel.
Look at the past year’s social media posts and determine which ones got the most engagement. Start with similar posts around the same time and pre-schedule them in Facebook and on Twitter. Then, using our handy social media calendar template, start planning out topics and even images, videos and copy for the year.
You don’t have to have every day planned out. Sometimes it’s best to leave some days open for some last-minute news to share, organic, personal stories that come up and, of course, listings!
In fact, after you’ve filled out specific posts for holidays, planned videos and other standard posts for certain days, mark days throughout your planner to post these more unexpected news and items.
Update Your Website
Do you have a long list of improvements or additions you’d like to make on your website? Have you found it difficult to catch up and make them? Then stress no more. This is the perfect time to make those update.
Go through your website, page by page, and start refreshing your copy, replacing old photos and removing old content. Make grammatical and spelling corrections wherever you need them.
Once you have the core of your website cleaned up, you can start planning what you’d like to add for 2017. Did you want to add your Facebook feed to it? Rework the layout of your home page? Start doing some research or sketching out your ideas then apply them before the new year sets in.
If you’re going to revamp your website, then you should also consider refreshing your newsletter template! This goes along with generally refreshing your brand, too.
A simple way to re-do your newsletter and give a new look is to change the layout. Most newsletter software have pre-made templates that you can choose from. This is a great start. You can also Google “e-newsletter samples” and find inspiration for your template.
