5 Ways to Gain New Clients
1. Tell friends and family what you do
The first way to gain new clients sounds like the easiest, right? It’s not all the time. For starters, not all real estate agents are as open to discussing their private lives as others. There’s a comfortability factor when approaching friends and family about monetary things. At the end of the day, you could end up selling or find a home for purchase to a friend or family member.
Talking about such things isn’t always easy. Get over the fear if you have it, though, because this is the first step to success.
2. Volunteer at local community events
Get out there as much as you can. We briefly mention this in 3 In-Person Ways to Generate Leads. It’s important that we take this a step further. Community events not only attract potential customers who are there to support the community, it also attracts community leaders. You’d be surprised how far a community leader can help you take your real estate agent career.
Community leaders hold positions of influence. They’re also potential clients. If you can manage to become a community leader yourself in some way, you’d be on your way to selling a lot of houses.
3. Get active with charities
Find something your passionate about. Any charity will do, but if you’d like to do something real estate, home related, you could try Habitat for Humanity, or another home creation based charity. Giving to charities is not only a great thing to do, it helps expose you to people that you might not otherwise meet.
Giving to charities are also tax write-offs in most cases. That’s a great thing for your real estate agent business.
4. Advertise on Facebook

Although Facebook’s had issues, it remains a viable place for people to communicate. You can communicate who you are and what you do.
5. Advertise on your own property
This is a great way to gain new clients. Why not put up a sign on your lawn telling people that you are a real estate agent? For one thing, putting up a sign tells people what you do. That’s a good thing.
If you do put a sign on your lawn, make sure the lawn and your home are in top shape. The worst thing you could do is advertise that you’re a real estate agent on a barren lawn and in front of a home with cracking paint and a broken porch.
